HELP! Can't delete merge replication subscribers in 2005

My client is using SQL 2005 Workgroup Edition. About 18-20 users will be
merge replication subscribers over the Internet with web synchronization.
During testing, several subscriptions were created and they will not drop
with the normal drop stored procedures.
This is an urgent problem because with my bogus, testing subscriptions
there, we have reached the 25 subscription limit and we cannot get their
final users subscribed.
I've seen others having this problem but haven't seen the resolution. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I take it you have tried to drop them using sp_dropmergesubscription and
sp_dropmergepullsubscription correct?
If so you should be able to drop them by deleting the contents of the
following tables on your subscriber db.
sysmergesubscriptions
MSmerge_supportability_settings
MSmerge_log_files
MSmerge_replinfo
MSmerge_supportability_settings
MSmerge_log_files
MSrepl_errors
MSmerge_history
MSmerge_articlehistory
MSmerge_sessions
MSmerge_replinfo
sysmergearticles
sysmergepublications
sysmergepartitioninfo
sysmergepartitioninfoview
sysmergeschemaarticles
sysmergeextendedarticlesview
sysmergeschemachange
sysmergesubsetfilters
sysmergesubscriptions

Help! - detached default database....

Hope someone can help me with this. I am new to SQL Server and am using the
express edition. I detached my 'Default' database and now I can not connect
to the server and do anything! Short of uninstalling it and and reinstalling
it - have any ideas on how I can 'reset'?
Terry
Hi Terry,
I do not use the Express Edition but I think this should work. Use any of
the command line utilities to connect and specify an alternate database like
master. Something like this
sqlcmd -U user -P password -d master
Hope this helps,

When you state Default database, do you mean the master database and othere
system database?
If so, you need to reinstall the sql express to rebuild the database.
Hope this helps.

It was not the master, it was one I developed and wanted to 'roll back'
to a backup I had made. And no, I couold not use the command line sqlcmd
utility to connect, and then make any change. SQL Management Express would
let me connect, but I could not do anything at all. I could not go to
security and and change the properties of my login. I could not re-attach
the DB - I was basically locked out of making any changes. The instance was
set up for 'Windows Authentication', so what I finally did was creat another
user (windows) on the system with Admin rights, logon to that account, log
into SQLME and change the default database for my original login. Took care
of the problem!
Thanks again for taking the time to try and give me some help - and Happy
Holidays!

Help!

Using Visual Basic Express Edition and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
Windows XP Home Edition SP2

I'm really sorry, this is probably the most idiotic post that you will ever read on these forums - but they're real problems.
There have been two things that I have been completely unable to figure out about SQL Server Express Edition 2005:

-When I am creating a new SQL database, or connecting to a SQL database from Visual Basic Express Edition I end up with two sqlservr.exe processes - one of these processes is activated when the computer powers up and the other is activated when I try creating or connecting to a SQL database. Having two of this process running simultaneously is really slowing down my programming! Can anyone help me stop this?

- And now for the really embarassing question : How do I save a query? I've followed the MSDN guide but I just cannot save any querys I create. I'm using VBE and SQLE (mentioned above) and when I have designed my query I just cannot find a button anywhere to save it! I've looked everywhere, the normal save button is greyed out and no shortcuts work - is this because I'm running express edition and you're not allowed to save querys?

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

this is because a User Instance is started when connecting to a database.. VBExpress designers can only connect to this "SQL" features and not to "traditional" SQL Server instances... but in your code you can change that behaviour..

the VS ide can be overhelming for that task.. you can perhaps have a look at the "traditional" editor and management GUI used for SQL Server (the Express edition as well), SQL Server Management Studio Express..
